I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids.! My husband Tim is a Soldier In the army. I work for MWR for the Community Recreation Division as an admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09. Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing, she is in her 11th season (2019-2020) of being a competitive dancer. It's exhausting but we LOVE it. Cale is starting to REALLY get into sports. He is on a year round wrestling team, and he plays baseball in the spring! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and re-purposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so I'm going to throw some of that in there too! On Valentines Day of 2017 we bought our first Travel Trailer. I'll be documenting our travels also on this blog!

Miss Georgia - 2018

My daughter and myself had the opportunity to go to our first Miss Georgia finals this week.  We were given tickets for Wednesday night.  We arrived at 6:30 found our seats and the show started at 7:00 pm.

I always thought (like dance competitions runs) they have do one category at a time, so I didn't know what I was going to be watching Wednesday night.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out that each night you get to see everything.  The Miss's and the Teens are broken up into groups (there were 99 contestants total I think I heard), and each group did something different each night.  I don't now how many groups they were broken up into but I kept hearing "this is the sigma group" or "the omega group" or even "the alpha group".  We saw talent from both the Teens and the Miss's, question and answer session (20 seconds each, and this is the portion that lost Kennedie's attention), fitness wear for the Teens and swimsuits for the Miss's, evening wear...I loved seeing all the dresses.

They had a great opening number.  One of the Emcee's actually sang and played guitar for the Miss's evening wear portion.

I would totally go again next year, I had a great time!!!  Even if you don't live in Georgia and can't make our show, look into your state's finals and see if you can attend!!
