About Me

Fort Benning, GA, United States
I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids, and a dancer for fun! My husband Tim works the at the combatives school here on fort benning. I work for MWR at Outdoor Recreation as their admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09 - that's right they are 5 and a half years apart! Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing. Cale is well on his way to become a fighter - daddy is already working on his punching and kicking techniques! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and repurposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so i'm going to throw some of that in their too!

GET A FOOD SAVER!

I bought a foodsaver for myself this past week and FINALLY got a chance to use it tonight!  I got this bad boy for $79.99 at walmart.  It's small can fit under my counter and came with it's first set of bags!  Corn was finally out at the commissary today and it was 8 for $2.  Corn is a favorite of ours in the summer so I got enough for 4 dinners.  Hopefully that will last us until we move at the end of May.  I'll have to start this all over again because it's not like we are just moving across town!  So I'm trying not to stock pile too much!
I made my own ground chicken with chicken breasts and it was MUCH cheaper then buying it pre-ground.  Look at my green beans - they are WONDERFUL!  That's one dinners worth right there!
I'm kinda nervous about my broccoli since it's such a delicate vegetable I hope they don't cook up smooshed...
