We traveled from Georgia to Washington State last week for my husbands 20 year high school reunion. Kennedie was actually born in Washington but the Army moved us when she was a few weeks shy of 4.
This was Cale's second airplane ride, but the first one he could remember as his first he was a month shy of two! So he was EXCITED! This is them walking into the Atlanta Airport.
Cale was equally excited about the Sky Tram
Alaska has this great app you can download pre-flight (you can't do it once you are in the air), and it's got all their movies installed on it, you can't watch it until you are hooked up to their wifi on the plane. They even had a great inflight tracker which helped Cale stop the "how much longer" questions, he could just check for himself on his ipod.
Made it on the plane!!
Kennedie was very nervous for take off, she wanted this closed and Cale wanted it open because he was super excited. This was just when the airplane was taxing to the runway.
I bought this great pillow for your feet on amazon (about $14.99 I think I spent on it), Cale loved it, until the stewardess saw it and thought it would be a tripping hazard if there was an emergency landing. Not sure if I should have waited to put it up after we took off or not. But it folds up small and it would be worth another try if you have small kids and they dangle their feet.
I also bought each of us these great pillows. I bought them for $11.99 and found a great pink one on a daily deal for $6.99. They are BACK SAVERS. My husband and myself have horrible backs. So leaning over on the tray table without SOMETHING is a no go. There are multiple uses of them and you can turn them and use them a multitude of ways. Cale is short so he used his this way (and it's nice you can put your book/phone/ipod in the hole and watch it.) and below is how my husband and I used ours (which is the way most people use them).
Finally made it into Seattle!
When we arrived and were inline to our rental car complex bus we were surprised at the weather. We all promptly put on our hoodies!
Walking into a place in Issaquah getting lunch. BRRR. I wished I had brought more than one hoodie because all my pictures looked like I didn't pack any clothes!
Got the rental van and we are on our way to Spokane!! (5 hour trip!)
We were actually staying with some family in Tum Tum - This is looking back at their house (and the dug up property is theirs too - they are starting to build a new house right on the river!).
Kennedie on the boat dock. We just visited and ate dinner this night, we were exhausted and had been awake since 230am Georgia time!
