I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids.! My husband Tim is a Soldier In the army. I work for MWR for the Community Recreation Division as an admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09. Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing, she is in her 11th season (2019-2020) of being a competitive dancer. It's exhausting but we LOVE it. Cale is starting to REALLY get into sports. He is on a year round wrestling team, and he plays baseball in the spring! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and re-purposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so I'm going to throw some of that in there too! On Valentines Day of 2017 we bought our first Travel Trailer. I'll be documenting our travels also on this blog!

How I save money at Sams Club!

I don't have a huge family, but I do find I save money by buying certain things at Sam's club.
I get giddy walking into my local Sam's club!
If you aren't using Scan and Go you are missing out!  Every time I see someone in the check out line I want to run up to them and show them the glory of Scan and Go!!!  Saves so much time!
These pillows are the best!!!
I usually always check out the clothes section.  I've gotten some great leggings, shorts for my husband, some Lauren James shorts that I wear camping a lot, there is a cardigan I've had my eye on that I might scoop up the next time I'm there!
This is how Scan and Go looks after you start scanning those bar codes!  You just pick it up and scan the code and in your cart it goes!
These are a great Keto Snack!  Super easy to keep in the fridge and pop into your lunch box!  $8.98
While this might be a tad more expensive than buying raw bacon strips this is a time saver for me in the morning.  Every morning I have two eggs, cheese, sausage crumbles and bacon for breakfast.  I cook up my eggs with my sausage crumbles, transfer to my container sprinkle cheese and use kitchen sheers to cut the bacon in pieces over everything.  I don't need to cook the bacon until I get to work and bring my breakfast out of the fridge.  $11.68
My husband also doesn't eat breakfast first thing before leaving the house, so these are a GREAT option for him.  He just grabs two eggs and away he goes. $9.48.
While it's a lot of cream cheese at once, my daughter uses these up before they expire most of the time.  It's more expensive to buy the "whipped" style of cream cheese.  I went on Pinterest and found that it's SUPER easy to make the whipped yourself.  I showed her how to set up the stand mixer, add the cream cheese and milk and let the mixer do it's work.
These eggs are the best price I can find!  I buy these almost every trip I go and that's practically weekly!
We also buy our cases of water and Powerade.  I'm so thankful they have the sugar free kind. $11.28
This is about par for the course on my weekly trip.  This trip I got a lot more lunch and after school snacks as we had exhausted our summer stash once school started.
Normally I do not have to stop at the self check out line.  But this trip my scan and go stopped working in the middle of my trip (it's never happened before) so I had to scan everything and pay at the register.  Normally with the Scan and Go feature once I'm done I go to the payment screen and "check out" and bring my phone for them to scan the QR code that becomes available after payment.
I made this snack for my husband almost with everything from Sam's club.  We get a deli size container for those huge pepperoni's (that we also use for Friday night pizza night), honey ham and pretzel chips.
This mac and cheese they just started carrying.  DELICIOUS!  It feeds our family of 4 with two servings for lunch the next day.
This broccoli and beef dinner, from the frozen section.  I cooked both of the portions and we had 3 lunches after everyone ate dinner.
We use a TON of EVOO in our house.  I bought the big one and I just refill my counter top dispenser. $14.78
Ya'll, my daughter will eat ALL this peanut butter in a month!  Sometimes I can get her to last 6 weeks.  We buy this ALOT! $9.98
I'm sure you have seen these all over facebook as a copy cat chick fil a nugget.  We air fryer these ALL the time.  They are a quick lunch/dinner or even a couple for a snack.  It's something my kids can cook independently in the air fryer when we aren't home.
These sausage patties are a new purchase for us.  I found that Sam's has a 24 pack of Pillsbury biscuits, all you have to do is heat them up and they are shelf stable for about a week or two uncooked.  I made some breakfast sandwiches and froze them for Tim and Cale loves a biscuit and sausage sandwich for breakfast.   We also love to have biscuits and gravy on the weekend. $7.98
Another made from Sam's purchases meal.  This is Cale's lunch one day.  He wanted a sausage biscuit sandwich, mini muffin (they come in a two pack and they can have one in their meal), applesauce and pretzel chips.
This is the water we get, 45 for $3.44 you can't beat that.  I buy two of these a week.
This is where I might loose some of you.  While $19.98 might not be the best price I can get on TP, I'm saving time and gas on purchasing it at Sam's while I'm already there.  Also before I started buying it at Sam's we would run out ALL THE TIME and it was the one thing I would always forget to purchase at the normal grocery stores.  So this lasts FOREVER and it's been a long time since I've heard "babe we are out of toilet paper again!"
These chicken melts are delicious!  Quick and easy snack or even a lunch!
Tim and Kennedie love hummus so I have to buy the econo size and this will last maybe a week!

We currently have the plus membership.  I got it originally so that we could have what I thought was an extra card.  I kept it when I renewed a few months later and I'm SO GLAD I did.  It's $40 extra dollars for the plus membership.  But the benefits totally out weigh that extra $40 fee.  We get $10 for every $500 we spend (which is my sister and me using the card) and we get free shipping to our home when they don't have something in store.  Currently 6 months into our year membership we have accumulated $100 in money back (we can't use it until January) so I'm confident we will get up the $200 by the time we can use it!  HELLO free groceries!  Also I have started to buy Bang energy drinks for Tim, they don't have them in my local store but online they will ship them FREE and I only spend about $1.41 per can, almost a dollar cheaper then in stores.
