I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids.! My husband Tim is a Soldier In the army. I work for MWR for the Community Recreation Division as an admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09. Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing, she is in her 11th season (2019-2020) of being a competitive dancer. It's exhausting but we LOVE it. Cale is starting to REALLY get into sports. He is on a year round wrestling team, and he plays baseball in the spring! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and re-purposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so I'm going to throw some of that in there too! On Valentines Day of 2017 we bought our first Travel Trailer. I'll be documenting our travels also on this blog!

Las Vegas - Day 3!!

Here is our 3rd and final full day!
Tim woke up with a fever so he stayed in bed hoping he would feel better later that night when we had the Tournament of Kings dinner/show.
We headed on our way to the Luxor to try out their buffet.
On the tram between Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay.
Originally when we were preparing Cale for this trip we told him "hey don't forget that when you aren't in the south they don't have sweet tea".  Well look how happy he was when he found sweet tea at the Luxor Buffet.
She was also told - "don't keep your hopes up about grits from anywhere but the south" Luxors was soupy.  But all in all the Luxor's buffet was our favorite.
The Luxor is one of the smaller casino's so it's one of the easiest to get around and find your way through.
This day it was cold and windy.  So we were all bundled up waiting for the monorail at the MGM station.  I bought Cale sunglasses the first morning we were there and he had already lost them at this point!
All this kid could talk about was a VR game at New York New York - we were hoping daddy would be able to take him on it but since he wasn't feeling any better I decided to let him try this one.  I paid $15 and it was like a 7 minute "ride".  He was happy and he promised to stop talking about it if he could get in it!  Done son!
We walked over near Planet Hollywood and went into the "Miracle Mile" shops.  This was the Nestle Tollhouse CafĂ©.  The cookies were DELICIOUS!  I tried a pumpkin spice snickerdoodle.  It wasn't overly pumpkiny and almost tasted like a normal snickerdoodle!

Get back on the Monorail.  We all had 24 hour passes at this point so we just were riding it at this point to get our moneys worth!
Waiting at the monorail station!

I don't know why she was looking all "Forest Gump" on me!
Rode the monorail to the "Fashion Show" mall to surprise Cale with the Lego Store.
Back on the monorail!  We were tired and cranky from walking all day.  As a group we all decided to snack at lunch because we knew the dinner later was going to be big.

Back into the Excalibur!

By the time we got back to Excalibur we had logged almost 7 miles!
We all met down stairs for our Tournament of Kings show.  But before Uncle took Cale to the arcade and he won 1000 tickets on his first spin of the Bass wheel!
Tim was still sick and almost worse than he was earlier that morning.  Thankfully because we purchased the tickets straight from the Excalibur box office before we left on the trip, they were able to refund Tim's ticket.

WOOHOO!
I was a little disappointed that there was no butter for the corn or biscuit.  But it didn't taste too bad.

This was the "King of Russia" he was hilarious.  He rode in front of all the "countries" (we were Ireland), and Kennedie yelled something at him.  He stared at her for a good minute and then when he stopped his horse at the front for another King to arrive he did this to Kennedie.  We were DYING laughing!
Cale looked all over Excalibur for the "Sword in the Stone" and this was the ONLY one we could find.  In a potato!
He was too short to try and get it out!
But the end of the day (because the Tournament of Kings was in the Excalibur) we ended with almost 8 miles logged!
