I'm an army wife, working mom of 2 kids.! My husband Tim is a Soldier In the army. I work for MWR for the Community Recreation Division as an admin assistant...I absolutely LOVE my job I couldn't have found anything better! My daughter, Kennedie, was born in January of 04 and our son, Cale, was born June of 09. Kennedie is VERY involved in dancing, she is in her 11th season (2019-2020) of being a competitive dancer. It's exhausting but we LOVE it. Cale is starting to REALLY get into sports. He is on a year round wrestling team, and he plays baseball in the spring! This blog started out as a recipe sharing venture but now it's going to turn into a more "granola" way to live. Cheap recipes more homemade recipes and re-purposing things. I'm a crafter at heart so I'm going to throw some of that in there too! On Valentines Day of 2017 we bought our first Travel Trailer. I'll be documenting our travels also on this blog!

Thred Up Goody Box Review

I decided to try a Thred Up Goody Box.  It was a $10 deposit for a box of 8-10 things.  Per the instructions in the email I got I started favoriting a lot of clothing in their app. This helps them figure out what to send you.
So excited to open and see my goodies!!!

The paper inside that shows how much everything is.  It also lets you know how to return.  If you keep $75 they give you $10 off your next order.  I'm posting the retail price with the price Thred Up has it listed for.  I haven't gone and done ANY research to see if the retail price is correct.
Already loved what I saw when I opened the box, and it was just the top!!

First thing already had a price tag on it!  It was brand spanking new!!!
First up this Lily Pulitzer sweater!!  I really wanted to keep this.  It was a thin sweater and very soft - but it was $28.99 (retails for $143) and what little spring we get is right around the corner and then we are thrown into summer!
I also have on this GREAT navy skirt.  It is Crown and Ivy brand (I've seen this at Belk and I'm not sure if it's a Belk Store brand or not but I've never seen it any where else.  It's like a working girls Lily Pulitzer.  I can have the Lily look without the price tag!)  I have several Crown and Ivy pieces!
It was a sateen fabric with a great ribbed detail, WITH POCKETS!!!  I totally kept this (and wore it to work Monday!) $9.99 (retails $36)

I kept the sweater on the try on these Crown and Ivy shorts.  I love the pattern and they fit great.  Kept: $11.99 (retail $36)
Another Crown and Ivy item is this sweater (also with original price tag).  I put it on and fell in love!  Kept this!  $6.99 (retails $13 - which it was marked as clearance on the tag for $13.99 I believe FULL retail price was around $30-40)
This is why favoriting items is important.  I favorited all the Lily P stuff I had my eyes on.  I have a bunch of shorts "hearted" in the app.  These white eyelet with scallop edge was one of them (see picture above for entire short picture).  Tried them on and they fit PERFECT!  Kept these: $18.99 (retail $71) (I usually spend $22-$25 for LP shorts at Clothes Mentor so these were a great price for me!
I was on the fence about this dress.  I LOVED it and it fit, but the straps aren't adjustable.  I tried to untie and re-tie but they are sewn at the knot.  BUT the straps can come off completely.  I ended up keeping this NEW WITH TAGS dress by Market and Spruce (Stitch Fix sends this brand A LOT!) $20.99 (retail $71)
 Great embroidery down the sleeves.
This dress was just ok.   The fabric was soft and sturdy (wouldn't blow around in the wind), but it was too short to wear to work.  It nailed me on the scallop trim again! The brand of this dress was "Crescent"  Sent this back: $18.99 (retail $71)
I don't usually like Maxi dresses OR strapless ones.  It was WAY too long for me.  I sent this "Unbranded" dress back: $27.99 (retail $115)
You guys know I love Lularoe - the Kimono was NEVER my favorite piece they have.  The style isn't me AT ALL, sent back: $19.99 (retail $40)
These shorts fit great but I have a pair similar to them! "Boden" brand.  Sent back: $18.99 (retail $49)
I didn't get this dress with my Goody Box - but it is a Thred Up purchased dress that arrived the same day as my box.  It's another Crown and Ivy dress - $14.99 (retail $48)
Here is a close up of what was sent to me.  I ended up keeping the C&I skirt, shorts and cardigan, and the LP shorts.  They take off my $10 shipping deposit from that total.  I will DEFINITELY be doing this again.  I might stop my Nadine West for a bit because they haven't nailed me in the last few boxes.

Another Stitch Fix Box

I received another Stitch Fix box.  I loved all but one thing but sending that one thing back would have caused the box to be more money.  I kept all 5 items for $157 with the discount.

I love this sweater, it's a great color.  It's a medium but I have room to layer it.  I feel like if they sent me a small I would have a hard time lifting my arms in it.
I'm a sucker for scarves.  Normally these blanket scarves are stiff and scratchy, this one is so soft and not stiff at all!!
Normally I do not like cinch around the waist jackets.  But this one I was cool with once I let out the strings a bit.  It's a really soft material and it stretches with me, so I don't feel like I'm going to bust a seam in the back when I move my arms.

They also sent me this great black shirt.  I don't know why they sent me mediums in all the shirts they sent, because I changed my profile to reflect I should be getting smalls.  I probably should have sent this back to get a small but I liked that I could wear leggings with it and it covered my tookus.
Hard to tell that the fabric on the shoulders is a little different than the rest.
The main fabric isn't a typical cotton it's more of a knit and the edging and back of the shoulders is more of a chiffon.

Nadine West - Box 5

Ya'll - my 5th box was AWESOME!!  I got 5 items, again I didn't get jewelry (WOOHOO!).  I'm sending back one thing.  What I love about Nadine West is that unlike Stitch Fix I don't feel like I have to keep all the items because of the discount.  I can actually make decisions about what is going to stay in my closet.

This shirt is soft, and best yet, it's in our dance studios colors!! WIN.  Keep - $27.99

THESE LEGGINGS!!!! I took these right out of the bag and put them on, didn't even go to the bedroom, right in the kitchen!!!  They are so soft, and I don't feel like I'm going to tear up the mesh when I pull them on!  I got tons of compliments on them at wrestling. KEEP - $27.99

These shorts, they are a cute idea but I'm not a fan of shorts that are short and baggy because the minute you bend down everyone sees EVERYTHING the shorts are meant to hide.  We didn't even try these on. Send Back - $17.19
I was on the fence about this dress.  It's not a flowy summer dress, it's thicker material.  Then I realized DUH it's meant to be a fall/spring dress.  I can pair it with leggings and a cute cardigan/jean jacket and I'm stylin!  Best yet IT HAS POCKETS! Keep - $28.49
I like the style of this shirt, it's currently tight around my midsection but I'm smack in the middle of loosing the 10 lbs. I have gained since my 22 lb. loss.  So I'm going to keep it.  If I don't look good when I'm done, Kennedie will rock it.  Keep - $24.49

To see my previous boxes:

I can't WAIT for my 6th box.  These are great and they are budget friendly so that means that I can get one once a month, in the end this box will cost me $94.18.  I took a survey and they gave me a $5 coupon so with that minus the shipping fee and shorts I think it's a awesome deal for 4 things!!!!

Latest Stitch Fix box

Stitch Fix

I always ask my stylist to put in 5 work appropriate shirts.  I feel that's the best value for me.  I also put that I would like to spend no more than $200 with the discount.  Normally it's really close. These five after the deduction of my styling fee, discount and tax I paid $232.00.  Stitch fix usually knocks it out of the park with my choices and I normally keep all 5 shirts.  This time I waivered on two shirts but sending them back would have been more expensive, because I would have lost the discount for keeping all 5.  I'm glad that I tried on one that I was iffy about, because it ended up being one of my favorites!!  I forgot to take a picture of the navy and white tank they sent me, trust me it was CUTE!  Next time I wear it (which I'm sure will be soon!) I'll update the blog.

I love stitch fix because the quality of clothes. While I normally wouldn't spend that much money on a shirt, I enjoy that I didn't have to go search and I get the discount.  But because of the expense I only get a box every 3-4 months.

This was my favorite shirt. I LOVE the scallop edges on the sleeve opening!!  It's a very soft cotton shirt.

When I pulled this one out of the box I didn't think it would fit.  Just holding it up it looked huge.  It ended up being PERFECT.  You can't tell in the picture but the background of the shirt is black or VERY dark navy, it's hard to tell.  I loved the color and the floral pattern.

I won't lie, I pulled this out of the box (this was the most expensive shirt out of the box at $84) I didn't like it.  I thought the peplum would hit me in a weird place and not flatter my tummy area.  The fabric is very soft and flowy though.  I'm so glad that I tried it on because I ended up LOVING IT.   It had a high/low seam. I loved when I walked it kinda just flowed and bounced around.

Hard to see the high/low because of where I chose to place my hands. but you can kinda see it.  And yes my white Maurice's jeggings are a tad big on me, I should have worn a belt that day! :)

This was my least favorite shirt and also the second most expensive at $68, but taking it out and sending it back would have cost me more money after the discount for keeping all five wasn't available.  So I ended up keeping it.  While I love the color, the fabric they chose and the lace on the sleeves, I DON'T like the center part with the buttons.  I wish it was just a simple V-neck and flat front.

Sorry for the chest shot but I wanted you to be able to really see it.
